Product Description

This is a Lowe & Brydon Wisden Box Set of the first fifteen almanacks 1864-1878, produced in 1974.

Each volume is a precise facsimile of the original paperback. Editions from 1864 to 1878 have faded pink wrappers.

The writing on the front of the box is original – this is how the box set were presented.

This is a lovely set, housed in the original yellow presentation box. The box is typical, as it is loose to the sides and a previous owner has used tape to hold it together on the lid – almost all we come across have issues.

Wisden collectors tend to favour this set as they are replicas of the original editions.

Our understanding is that only 100 sets were produced by Lowe & Brydon

A smashing set of the first fifteen, 9/10

IMPORTANT:

Every listing in this auction is a book from a Wisden Collectors’ Club member. Their aim, along with mine is to allow a Wisden they no longer require to go to a fellow collector to read and enjoy. The Wisden Collectors’ Club does not take any fee at all – every single penny including the postage the winner pays, goes to the seller. You will see books listed in our auctions that have equivalents on the website that is my business (Wisdenworld) and you will see that they sell for more on Wisdenworld. That is a consequence that I am prepared to take in order for collectors to have a true and genuine opportunity of buying and selling Wisdens to each other. As a business I hope it also builds up loyalty and trust in both the WCC and Wisdenworld.
You will see that the listing style on both the WCC and Wisdenworld is the same, this is done to save time – being realistic, the WCC auctions take a lot of time so I try and make it easy for myself, hence the similar styles.

In this current auction (and throughout 2019) after agreement with all sellers a percentage of the final sale price plus ALL Proceeds (including Postage) from books taken from the Latest Offers And Giveaways section of the website will be split between The Alzheimer’s Society and The Kings Arms Project (Bedford).

Thank you so much for taking part.
